Assessment
- All subjects have components of internal assessment on the basis of assignments / project work, practical sessions and coursework.
- Subjects in Groups I & Group II carry a 20% weightage for internal assessment while subjects in Group III carry a 50% weightage.
- At the end of Grade X, the candidates are required to enrol for six subjects from Groups I, II and III.

Examination

Certification
- There are no compulsory subjects in obtaining IGCSE certificate. The students taking one or more subjects at any session of IGCSE examination will be provided with the IGCSE certificate in the subjects offered, provided that the student satisfies the pass criteria in the subject(s) offered.
- VIS recommends that a student takes any two of the languages offered in our school from Group I.
- Students in VIS are recommended to opt for at least one subject each from the groups II, III, IV & V.
- Students who are planning to pursue Mathematics and Sciences Stream at Senior School Level (Gr. 11 & 12), will be required to do Mathematics from Group IV and all the 3 Sciences from Group III.
- Students in VIS will be counselled to take at least 7 subjects in all for the IGCSE Examination.
- A minimum of 5 ‘C’ subject grades in IGCSE examinations are essential requirements to join Grade 11 in any good senior school curriculum.
- A student appearing for IGCSE examination will be able to receive ‘International Certificate of Education ICE’ provided he/she satisfies the criteria set by CAIE.
- A student hoping to receive ICE must enter and sit for at least 7 subjects in all - two from Group 1 and at least one subject each from the Groups 2, 3, 4 & 5.

- In accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, the Council conducts two examinations – ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII).
