29th August 2025 marked a proud and historic moment for our VIS community as we inaugurated the second edition of The Hindu Football Tournament on our campus. The event began with great enthusiasm and set the stage for a thrilling season of sport, camaraderie, and competition.

We were deeply honoured to welcome Mr. N. A. Haris, Chairman of the Bangalore Development Authority, MLA (Shantinagar, Bengaluru), and Vice President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), as our esteemed Chief Guest. Adding further prestige to the occasion were Mr. L. V. Navaneeth, CEO of The Hindu Group, and Mr. Rohit Ramesh, Director of The Hindu Group.

Guided by the vision and encouragement of our Principal, Mr. K. Prabhakaran, and Director, Dr. V. Sanjeevi, the inauguration highlighted VIS’s commitment to fostering sports as a platform for growth, discipline, and unity.

This year, the tournament grew bigger and stronger welcoming not only schools from Chennai but also teams from neighbouring districts such as Ranipet, Vellore, Kanchipuram, and more. With this expansion, the competition promises to be a vibrant showcase of talent and sportsmanship.

The inauguration set the tone for an exciting journey ahead celebrating football, teamwork, and the true spirit of the game.
